For many analysts someone should have seen this tragedy coming. Only three years ago, NTV's Rita Tinina was in Sinai to cover a standoff between the residents and the Kenya Pipeline Company. And even then it was clear, this slum was just a disaster waiting to happen. Here is the story that NTV did back then.

  • I will suffer blood pressure or heart attack if I continue watching Kenyan news.

  • they were never evicted because a politician did not want to lose votes.Where are the city planners and how can KPC operate in such an environment.People in Kenya are not serious, and with this tragic event and the killing of the British tourist the country todayis topping in the world news for the wrong reasons.

  • @Abedi1001 Keep in mind it is the stupid common mwananchi keeping the politicians in office, and with this video as evidence the common mwananchi is severely stupid

  • A Kenyan Must Just be beaten fist to Vacate and take himself to safety! What the Fuck is this? I wish I was there to give this man a thorough beating of his life....watu hawangekufa KPC -SINAI!

  • OK - "Hakuna mtu amekufa kwahivyo hakuna hatari..." Sasa wamekufa - there is no excuse. Residents have to be forced to move for their own good. The Pipeline spokesperson knew what she was talking about.

  • Lets blame the polititians who without logic will urge their constituents to stay put when the government tries to evict them from such places. They are now having crocodile tears flowing down their chicks. they should have advised their people to move out of this place earlier.

  • @mcmagicx,lol,glad i could put some sense into you,you are most welcome...your sarcasm.....doesn't impress me..get that!!Clap all you want.....

  • @MultiVickylicious Oh applaus, how smart of you to have figured that all by yourself.I will definately next time excogitate your suggestion and thank you for your assistance.I really wouldn't have thought that one out all by myself.

  • @mcmagicx ,then don't watch,whose forcing you...

  • @mcmagicx i think i already have high blood pressure.

  • Nairobi is basically full to capacit. well, it's over capacity by at least 1000% But we still have the government approving more business to the capital city! Where will the population live?

It's time we have at least 50% off all companies in Nairobi resettled to other parts of the country!

  • It could be true that these impoverished residents had nowhere else to reside. They preferred to live at least three more years than to die immediately due to other causes.
