Nothing but the blood of Jesus

In the U.S.A., the U.K., Australia, et cetera, people are singing this song. Meanwhile, in the Holy Land, Palestinians are losing their blood thanks to the former group. Why? 'Cause they're in the way. Problem is... the Jews were kicked out of the Holy Land for rejecting Jesus, having forfeited their right to the land on that condition. SO THEY STILL HAVE NO RIGHT AS LONG AS THEY REJECT THEIR KING. I love Jews, so don't get me wrong. But I also love Palestinians. Wake up. Zionism is heresy.

@KingWilliamI Why don't you throw some this way and I'll see what I can do about giving you the Jewish interpretations - only for the OT, since my source is the Jews. As I've said before, it's their book, written by them, for them, in their language and with their own idioms, along with the Talmud and Mishnah to guide them in correct interpretation. For that reason, I tend to take their interpretation over any other.
-
@Matthew1944 You only have to read them with an open mind to what they are pertaining to. If you can come up with a better interpretation, be my guest, but if you can't, maybe you should consider what I have told you.

@Matthew1944 "...laid on him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:4-6) I encourage you to continue reading the whole chapter: it has a lot of stuff that couldn't refer to anyone but Jesus of Nazareth. Or what about the book of Daniel: "'Look! I see four men walking around in the fire [where three had been thrown in], unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.'" (Daniel 3:25) There are hundreds of references to the coming Messiah, all of them fitting Jesus perfectly...

@Matthew1944 So you are speaking from a Jewish standpoint. Tell me then, what Isaiah 53 is talking about? "Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid...

@KingWilliamI - There was ritual bleeding ON AN ALTER for inadvertant sins. Bleeding was done because it was forbidden for Jews to eat blood because it was considered to be life blood. For deliberate sins, there was prayer and compensation to those who were hurt by you. There can be no "new" convenant when the old one is ETERNAL. Forgiveness through "grace" is Paul's invention and not what Jesus taught. Human sacrifice of a man-god is pagan.
-
@Matthew1944 Animals were bled before being eaten, but they were also sacrificed for your sin! Now, with the New Covenant, the blood of the Perfect God has been shed for our sins. How much greater a sacrifice! We cannot atone for our own sins, for God accepts nothing less than perfection, and none of us are perfect. Rather, His grace (forgiveness without us deserving) given to us through the medium of Christ saves us. Read Matthew 26:28 and Romans 9:10-16 (focus on verse 16)

@Matthew1944 The idea of a man god who comes to earth to die for the sins of mankind is pagan. The idea that we have been born in sin and so must suffer death is a Christian invention. Christianity has had an obsession about sex being a sin and therefore sex and sin are synonymous with it - silly concept. Read Genesis - Man was CREATED MORTAL and tossed out of the garden BEFORE he had a chance to eat from the tree of eternal life.
-
@KingWilliamI - God asks for atonement for any sin which we ourselves have committed. Jesus himself gave directions for that, didn't he? One must closet oneself and ask for forgiveness and God will know what we need. Nothing more. The blood is symbolic for "life" - read your bible - and for that reason animals must be bled before the meat is eaten - again, read your bible. Your YOURSELF must atone for your own sins - no one can do it for your - read Deuteronomy.
-
@Matthew1944 God requires payment for sin, the sin we have committed. The blood is symbolic for death, essentially. Without Jesus paying the debt for our sins, we ourselves must pay them; our blood must be the sacrifice (i.e. in hell)
