9/23/2011 "When the pop fly descended into Chris Young's glove at 9:17 p.m. on Friday night, J.J. Putz raced toward home plate and performed a Herculean task. He bear-hugged catcher Miguel Montero and hoisted him up off the ground.

And so began a celebration that few thought possible, a team that almost no one believed in at the start of the year clinching a trip to baseball's postseason.

The Diamondbacks are National League West champs, their 3-1 victory against the San Francisco Giants securing the franchise's fifth division title and first since 2007."
