been hearing alot about HIV/AIDS in PSHE and biology, & tbh it really gets to me- I dont know anyone with AIDS but it sounds so horrible, and theres no cure, only research.

HIV tests are neither truly "positive" or "negative," they are only shades of "reactive." The test result is "interpreted" for "risk group," so that if you're brown-skinned, gay, a drug user, or African, you are both more likely to be tested, and more likely to have your test result re-tested, until you're given a result of either "true positive" or "false negative."
