  • Rock on Zubernick! Enjoyed hearing about your solo Galapagos - Hawaii run. Dang I hate when you loose a halyard up the mast like that. Calls for some fancy monkey mast footwork and a double ration (afterwards....). All the best adventuring in the New Year. Cheers. Bernie

  • Thanks for posting. I woke up this cold December morning dreaming of sailing the Caribbean. Lots of saving and leaning to do, but seeing others' experiences is keeping the dream alive.

  • Hey there MrSteve,

Great hearing from you. Never before have small (14 - 24') cruising boats been a better buy. Get your $5k together, ditch the dream and get cruising! Cheers. Bernie

  • Wow, I want to do this.

  • Then go! Seriously, all the best doing what grabs you - even if it means 2 months out of sight of land. Cheers. Bernie

  • very nice. Thanks for posting this. How big is your boat?

  • Sea Bird was just over 34 feet long. Glad you enjoyed the clip.

  • Great video, but we want to see the rest of the 65 days! Man, your comments after comming down from the mast are really sobering. To go from such elation to near calamity is pretty much the definition of sailing, isn't it?

  • He just got crazier and crazier

  • I did 59 days solo Galapagos to Hawaii and got jazzed watching your video. I had to go up the mast on Prusik knots to retrieve a halyard which flogged off in a squall and felt like a human bell clapper whanging into the mast then the shrouds - I saw the cut over your eye. I also went swimming while becalmed in the doldrums to see how fouled the bottom was - not too bright but I had become obsessed with knowing - you might understand. Thanks for posting the clip!

  • musta been an xperience, thanks for the video

  • Awesome vid, this is something I would love to do. Saving for a yacht atm. Cheers for the upload!
