  • If I were to get one of these necks, would I be able to take my guitar and neck to a guitar shop and they would do it for me? Also, are these Warmoth necks available in a store for me to see how they are in my hand? Thanks for the vid!

  • legumes12,

I would think you could find a Guitar Tech to mount the neck. I would call or visit first to make sure. Also, depending on the guitar you have and neck you chose, the neck may be pre-drilled which makes the job easy.

I am not aware of any stores with Warmouth necks you can touch and feel. You can however, describe for them the neck style you like on a commercial guitar such as Strat, Tele, Les Paul), and they can recommend one of theirs that will feel the same. Good Luck!

  • rather than buy an american fender strat and remove the neck and take away it's value, why not just build a warmoth guitar with all the same specs?

  • Good question! I've had the guitar for some time. It was all about the cost to correct my discomfort with the original strat neck. Neither Fender or retailer would sell me a neck with a different shape even thoughFender has quite a few. The most I could get on a trade was $600 on a guitar that now sels online for $1250 new. The Warmoth neck path provided a solution which cost under $300. That said, I have set my sights to build a complete Warmoth LP. Thanks- ggh

  • silentj80, thanks again for the question, I forgot to mention that the original Fender neck and hardware can be remounted to restore the guitar's full value when I am ready to sell or trade.

  • Thank you for the vid.I have a De Luxe Strat myself, and wanted to buy a scalloped Warmoth neck. They told me the same, that they dont deliver to de luxe strats,so I got my neck scalloped here in Copenhagen instead.Great job,but I would have been super happy,if that neck could have been in Gibson scale:24/75 but its something I can live with :)

  • So, I've got a Fender Mexican Tele that I want to replace the neck on. I saw Warmoth offers reverse banana headstock like what you see on kramer and I was interested in getting that. Question is, do you think that would fit my tele or do I HAVE to get a tele neck?

  • i am interested in finding a solution to drilling the holes in the virgin neck. i understand the self centering drill bit, however it occurs to me that there is no cure or fail safe for drilling a perfectly straight hole that is square to the neck plate. is there a trick you used for this or are you just that steady and good at eyeballing your hand drill? this being said, is it ok if the holes are just a degree or two off plumb? will it still do the job safely? thanks

  • would you be interested in selling the delux strat neck that you replaced

  • I have that same drill..

    got it on sale =]

  • At first I was wondering why would someone need a how-to on unistaling/istaling a neck... I've done it hundreds of time for various reason, thinking nothing of it. But after watching it, I had to tell you that the duct tape trick is invauable!

    Thanks for posting!
