Proyecto Las 1000 grullas para Japón / 1000 Cranes to Japan

My name is Makiko. I am one Japanese woman living in Madrid for one year. As you know, one big earthquake happened in Japan on March, Friday 11. This earthquake has affected me emotionally a lot. Until late Friday morning I heard nothing from my people, did not know if they were alive or dead. Japan collapsed, and for hours I could not communicate with no one. Although my family and friends are not injured, I am still very touched to see the news from Japan. So I´ve had an idea. The plan is that each person make an "origami crane". To help you out, I made a video explaining how.

In Japan we use to make 1,000 cranes to be granted a wish. So I need your help to encourage my country and especially the people in the areas most affected by the disaster. Once we have the one thousand cranes, they will be sent to our friends in Northern Japan, who needs so much help and encouragement.

Me llamo Makiko. Soy una japonesa que vive en Madrid desde hace un año. Como sabéis, hubo un gran terremoto en Japón el viernes 11 de marzo. Este terremoto me ha afectado mucho emocionalmente. Hasta bien entrada la mañana del viernes no tuve noticias de mi gente, no sabía si estaban vivos o muertos. Japón se colapsó y durantes horas me fue imposible comunicarme con nadie. Aunque finalmente mi familia y amigos salieran ilesos, me sigue angustiando mucho ver las noticias que llegan desde Japón. Así que se me ha ocurrido una idea. El plan es que cada persona haga una grulla de origami. Para ayudaros, he hecho un vídeo explicando cómo se hace.

En Japón solemos hacer 1.000 grullas para que se cumpla un deseo. Por eso necesito vuestra ayuda para animar a mi país y especialmente a la gente que está en las zonas más afectadas por la catastrofe. Una vez que tengamos las mil grullas, se las enviaremos a nuestros amigos del norte de Japón, que tanta ayuda y tanto ánimo van a necesitar.

I think this is a beautiful idea! I'm Glad to know all the people you know are ok, thank you for the explanation this would be my first Crane ever made, but I'm gonna put all my heart into it.

Creo que esto es una hermosa idea!. Me alegra saber que toda la gente que conoces está bien, gracias por el video explicativo, será la primer Grulla que haya hecho en mi vida, pero pondré todo mi corazón en ella.
