coal fired vertical boilered loco Alderney pulls a passenger train round my garden railway. The boiler had just been lagged and doing this has made a significant improvement, the boiler staying hotter and steaming a lot more freely. At one point flames were seen to be coming out of the chimney! The loco ran for the best part of an hour, and I happily used up a lot of my supply of Welsh best! The "ah bugger" was due to the firehole door opening on the run, which doesn't do the steaming any good. The loco was going a little too fast for me to close it!
