oh ok , yeah i know what a light emmiting diode is, i just wasnt sure if it had another meaning when it came to model jet turbine engines, and i saw an sr71 turbine plane that had them on a video on here, and they were really close to where the exhaust is, i was just really surprised that the leds didnt get melted being in the exhaust stream, i guess the exhaust isnt as hot as i imagined then ,from these model turbine engines

@bulletproof2353 They actually are extremely hot. But they are kept clear of the exhaust and there is a heat shield between the turbine's exhaust and the LED's.

what is an LED afterburner? what does led stand for?
and is it different than a regular afterburner? what does it do?inject fuel into the hoe exhaust gasses? seems ike it was going faster without them lit though

@bulletproof2353 There is no actual afterburners, those are not permitted for model aircraft. LED is a kind of small, extremely bright light. LED stands for light emitting diode. When the pilot brings the throttle to a certain percentage, the lights turn on. This is meant to simulate the look of an afterburner, but there is no real afterburner.
