Extinction - School production project in Source Engine for HL2:EP2
Vorian Deva, mutant with electrical powers and would-be hero, needs to make is way trough the giant junkyard surrounding the last bastion of humanity, the city of Eternos. He is trying desperately to find a way to enter the lowest sector of the city from this immense playground of junks and broken machinery.
Difficulty -- Medium (6 out of 12)
Length of the project -- 12 weeks
Mandate:
- Create a full level and gameplay scenarios using data from the provided GDD
- Minimum 4 mins walkthrough
- Follow the narration guidelines of the story and deliver the proper elements for coherency
- Introduce a new weapon : Spark gun (machine-gun like weapon that deal heavy damage )
- Introduce a new mechanic :magnet devices used to clear up paths
Challenges:
- Balance the difficulty and rhythm in the level
- Integrate homemade voice acting
- Create a convincing chase with the proper tracking mechanics
Brand new assets, NPCs and animations created by the development team at Ubisoft Campus (props in this level by Guillaume Boucher and Kathie Lafreniere)

I'm an LD student in the same program that you did and i find it very interesting to see this.
Serge, Annick and Eric showed us small parts of Extinction, but it's completely different to see an whole level.
It's actualy pretty well done.
