The old Mastex Industries facility in Holyoke will soon be the site of a world class research center. The announcement comes one year after Governor Patrick initially announced that a high performance computing center would be built along the city's canals, taking advantage of cheap energy and from the hydroelectric dam owned by Holyoke's gas and electric department. The project will cost well over 100 Million dollars, but Governor Patrick says it will put Western Mass on the map.
