actually 3rd party companies have agreed that across the board ford builds the same or better quality cars than any automaker that sells in the US, also they have cars like the fusion which is the most fuel efficient car of its class. then there is GM, which beats the competition in gas mileage and HP with almost every vehicle they make and also has the same build quality as toyota or honda.
Pure EV is not practical for most people. Theoretically, the standard Model S will come with a 150 mile range. That's only 75 miles round trip. If you live in LA, that's not enough to get to Santa Barbara, San Diego, or Palm Springs and back. What if you want to drive up to San Fran or to Vegas? What happens if you get home at night and you forget to plug in?
The Model S. The Tesla Sedan. It comes in at about $10k more expensive, but you'll never need to buy gas for it. Ever. And that's because Tesla is tiny and has no economies of scale. If it can get big enough to mass produce, uh yeah, it could kill anyone with its dazzling EVs.
Did you even watch the video? He gave a clear reason as to why the program was scrapped.
Even if GM was at fault somehow - To suggest that GM 'deserves to fail' is a damn near evil concept.
Do do you think the execs would be hurt by the demise of GM? NO, they have money. But what about the millions of WORKERS, direct and indirect (dealeships, truckdrivers, etc) contributing $ to our economy?
Now where do they spend their money? Those places wouldnt need as many employees, and so on...
Please elaborate on the shit quality you refer to. It would be helpful if you could cite an accurate example, other than the hearsay you base this on.
I hope this will be the rebirth of General Motors and the AMerican Auto Industry. There is no reason for us to buy non-American cars when we prove that we can build the best.
Toyota was actually called out by 3rd party companies for not keeping up with build quality of domestics.
I leave out chrysler because they are all across the board

All of these negative posts seem clearly rooted in ignorance!
I really dont understand why nobody understands the actual; root of the automakers problem.
The BANKS (who TRULY received a bailout, not a LOAN like GM) are still not lending money. How many people can buy a car with cash?
Toyota is able to compete in America because Japan subsidizes them. That money comes from taxes on American imports.
GM now makes premium quality products. If you dispute this, I suggest you offer proof.

"almost the same price"
????
You should really research your ignorant comments before you post for all to see!
The Tesla is a $92,000 car.

Stop with this crap... did you hear him say the cars cost over $100,000 PER car? Think leasing them at $300 was working for them?
