Resonatin' - a little sound demo!!

Reso-regards everyone!!

I've been thinking for a while to take my resonator guitars, line them up and record some clips to let y'all know they differ in sound, size etc..

My Republics, Amistars, a National Duolian and a cheapo SX(spiderbridge)..

All played without picks here! (though some of them really need picks to sound to their max potential..)

Just a fun experiment y'all..!!!

The Duolian sounds fat and nice even though it has the lightest strings of all guitars, 0.10's..!!

And folks..
These guitars doesn't sound better or worse, just different, LoL!!!!

Thanks so much for this demo. I want to buy my first dobro/resonator. I would prefer a vintage one, but Nationals are a little too expensive since I want to spent like 600/700,-. I especially play blues both with fingers and slide, but don't want to get that blue grass sound. I know it's all about taste.. But what do you recommend? Thanks!

Yeah, vintage instruments do have "mojo" built in but if you're looking for a good guitar to get you started, go for one of the models from Republic Guitars. I got some videos here that'll give some clues about how they sound..
