its not because its front or rear wheel drive. why would you install one? do you know what happens to the rear suspension when you lower the ride height if you don't have an adjustable panhard rod. maybe that might be the answer.

Factory equipped vehicles with a PanHard Bar have issues after the vehcile has been lowered.
As in the case(s) for an AE86 Toyota Corolla, 1st Gen Acura Integra (AV), 1st gen Honda CRX (AS) & 3rd gen Civic (AT).
The entire rear axle tends to shift over to the driver side in U.S. models.
The adjustable threaded HEIM joints allow you to pull the bar back in-wards to center your rear axle.

It makes the rear suspension more stable. I have one fitted on my Starlet and it makes a huge difference.
