Herman Brothers, Jeff Lampe, and the Farmer spend a day pheasant hunting at the amazing Gilles Farm in Central Illinois. This property is a showpiece of what the Pheasants Forever organization can create! This was the last hunting trip of the season for Indy and Hawk and man did they do a great job!

  • Why would you kill a pheasant if you don't eat them? And for you to say pheasants aren't any good for the table; buddy, you or your family must not know how to cook them right then, because they taste great on my plate.

  • hard working dogs, but they could use some manners. A dog should honor another dog on point and not steal point

  • @FREE219 And well trained dogs know manners. If you train them right they don't get as competitive and honor the other ones point... fyi

  • ive been here at least five times i think its my favorite pheasant hunting place ever my first time going here i was 12 years old and i got my first pheasant one of the greatest moments of my life.

  • @edmotar there dogs ffs, likr they know manners, dogs are also very competetive fyi

  • pointers are a bad idea if not well trained. eg the amount of times ive seen my pointer come into a close encounter because it followed a low-flying bird is... uncountable. never been shot luckily. i only go on scheduled beats now, people beat stuff like cybals and smack wooden poles it does the job safer and better

  • great video clip! I'm going out hunting tomorrow for the first time with our year old german short-hair pointer! This has elevated my excitement!

  • The pointing is OK (not great) . The retrieving is rather bad. The dogs do not want to hand the birds to the handlers. A bird that's still alive after the shot is being chewed to death by a dog. I'm glad my dogs do not show this behaviour.

  • @edmotar

No, the dogs are just having fun. People take pheasant hunting and their dogs too seriously. Let both dogs enjoy themselves out there.

  • looks like u boys had fun, and i agree with winniegundog, nobodys dog is perfect, u and the dogs are having fun and they are still pointing and getting the job done. thanks the vid.

  • some good dogs and great shoots too

  • thats how my dogs work.... i have 2 german short-haired pointers there some of the best gun dogs and pheasant dogs ive ever seen not trying to brag lol
