It's sad that Layne died, but I'm so sick of people complaining about DuVall. The man is an amazing musician and singer, who happens to have a different voice than Staley, but that doesn't mean he's worse. And just because Staley, as great of a singer as he was, nuked himself on an insane amount of drug abuse doesn't mean A.I.C. should stop making music forever. Cantrell was the heart of the band anyway. Just listen to the new album, it's the same style, it's not a different band at all

There is a quality in William Duvall's voice that is much like Layne's without being a complete copycat. Obviously Layne and his voice are irreplaceable but I think that Jerry and the boys took their time and found the right fit to go on with the band and in doing so are honoring Layne and honoring what they did as a group to change music history. For a long time, too many people only talked about the horrible way Layne died. Since AIC's return, the conversation has finally begun to change.

yeah, and for all the people complaining and insulting duvell, remember it was jerry, mike and sean who picked him so you are also insulting there judgments as well. I am so fucking glad they didnt break up, go Duvell you've got balls to go up there and sing what used to be sung by layne. RIP layne.

@AcousticTyGuy Personally I prefer Staley over Duvall, and I don't think the new album is really the same style as the old, and I think Staley had nearly as much influence on AIC as Cantrell did, but I agree with everything else you said. Cantrell, Kiney, and Inez picked Duvall, so he's in the band. If fans don't like it, they need to get over it. It's better than no AIC at all.
