The final part of the BA001 journey, covering the (bouncy!) landing in JFK and the taxi to the gate. Club World London City is an excellent service that the people of BA should be very proud of. I thoroughly encourage you to try it.

  • As the passengers go through the domestic channel would it not make more sense to arrive into La Guardia? It's a pain that JFK is so far from Manhattan, La Guardia is practically on the doorstep.

  • LGA has a law governing which cities can be served and London is not included.

Also, BA have no ground facilities at LGA - no lounge, no spa, no pre-flight dining etc. like they have at JFK. This is a key component of the service to maximise time for sleep on board the NYC-London flight.

  • The flight crew are 'based' at London Gatwick, where they report for duty. They are then bussed to a hotel in London and stay a night. They then operate operate LCY-SNN and change for a new crew. The day after, they operate SNN-JFK and then the day after that, operate the return to LCY.

Currently the crew consists of two Airbus pilots and a B777 pilot trained in ETOPS procedures, until the service gets more established, at which point the B777 pilot will be removed.

  • Excellent video!

I've noticed that this flight arrived at Gate 1 of Terminal 7 at JFK. Since the flight arrives in NY as a domestic flight (as customs/immigration already cleared in Ireland), shouldn't BA use the gates on the other side of the terminal which are closer to the domstic baggage claim area (the same one used by UA)?

  • Currently they seem to be using gates 1 or 2, which are BA gates and good for departure (close to BA premium security line). On arrival, one has to walk from gates 1/2 all the way round to domestic baggage claim, but as T7 is pretty small this is not too much of a problem.

  • @mackieap agreed, and LGA is not an international airport therefore no international flights would arrive.

  • That particular berth was where Concorde usually used to park.

  • do you need to stop at shannon on the way back?

  • very good to see, thanx for sharing

  • they cost around 2K Each

  • Wonderful! All three of them just beautiful! So do they fly out of LCY to SNN with just enough fuel for that leg and then refuel for JFK? The take-off out of LCY was tremendous! 1... 2... 3... and your up & Climbing at one hell of a rate! Giving me the impression that the tanks couldn't have been be too full. What a remarkable flight this is... truly unique.

  • Fantastic video m8 , really enjoyed all 3 .

  • They couldn't use LGA even if they wanted to. LGA has a 1500 mile perimeter rule. No flights further than that are allowed out of LGA, with a few exceptions, and London isn't one of them.

  • How much does the ticket for this flight cost?

  • lol
