I walked in to find Kevin sitting with a guitar and singing.

I didn't let him sing anymore. I just walked right in, and he jumped then cleared his throat. "Dude," I moaned, "this has gone too far. She has a boyfriend."
"I know," he groaned.
"You're just making yourself miserable."
"I know that too, but it still doesn't change anything. I try and I try to change it, but it's just not working."
"Kev, you said it yourself, she doesn't need this stress in her life right now."
"Will you stop telling me things I already know? I'm trying my hardest to hide all this while I'm around her, but it's really hard, so sometimes I just need to go off and let it out like this."
"I just hate seeing that you're miserable."
"You and me both."
"But, dude, I can't imagine sitting here singing songs like that by yourself could do you any good."
"It's the only thing I can do at this point."
"Okay, I trust you, but if you ever wanna talk, I'm here."
"Thanks man."
I nodded and then left him. I heard him beginning to play again. I felt weird leaving him alone when he was so upset, but I knew there was nothing I could do to help him, so if he thought that singing it out would help, I had to let him. So I continued walking only to hear music coming from another room. This time it was Nick.

I had to stop him too, so before he could finish, I walked in. Just like Kevin, he jumped and cleared his throat.
"God, how do I walk in on two brothers singing love songs about the same girl, who has a boyfriend I might add, all in the span of like 10 minutes?" I moaned.
"I know... Wait Kevin was singing too?"
"Not the point here."
"Okay, but out of curiosity, what was he singing?"
"Nick!" I snapped frustrated.
"Sorry," he mumbled.
"Look, believe it or not, I care about you, and I don't think this is doing you any good. I actually think it's making matters worse."
"What are you talking about? I'm just rehearsing."
I actually laughed at that. "Yeah, right, Nick. And that's why you were singing my part too."
"Well, you weren't here, so what was I supposed to do?"
"Okay, can we stop with this little game now? We both know you weren't rehearsing."
"Ugh fine," he moaned.
"I'm just trying to help."
"Okay, but you know I express myself through music, and I couldn't think of a new song that fit any better than this."
"But what good is this doing?"
"I just need to let it out."
"Wow, you and Kevin are like the same person."
"Really? He said the same thing? Man, he's good."
"See, this is part of the problem," I moaned. "This has turned into a competition between you 2. How long until Hayley catches on? She just started trusting you guys. And she doesn't need this in her life right now anyway."
"I know, okay? and that's why we're trying really hard to hide it from her."
"Okay, and I appreciate your efforts to do that, but what happens if next time I'm not the one wandering around and overhearing? What is it's Hayley?"
