As Devil's advocate...no one has ever attacked Canada, except before Canada was even a country. Hitler may have eventually tried to take over Canada...but he never got the chance to.

So far, Canadians have fought so other countries can have freedom. While this is extremely good and well, the whole "they died so we could live freely thing is a little false."

Do you honestly think the German army would have stopped in the UK? Or if America didn't enter the war, do you think Russia would have stopped in Berlin?

World war I and II veterans gave their lives for our freedom, there is no questioning this, an argument can be made about Afghanistan, but making that argument on this day seems perverse

You're right...so after they take Europe, re-stock all of their supplies, build-up their man-power - while we just sit on our asses - then they absolutely wouldn't ever consider sending a few thousand men over via cruise ship, or simply build-up their navy too...or just take Britain's navy..who we just watched get annihilated.

Point is, you don't know what would have happened...the German's if nothing else, were extremely resourceful, and they wanted the world.

I have the utmost respect for any soldier from the army. But, at the same time "they died for our freedom" thing, I dunno, I just don't feel it.

I feel like police men, and people like them fight for the regular person's freedom everyday, yet they don't get the same recognition.
