Lyrics:

The sun is fading away,
That's the end of the day.
As the junelight
Turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way.

Just one kiss, then i'll go.
Don't hide the tears that don't show.
As the junelight
Turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way...

...to where the winds don't blow
And golden rivers flow.
This way will i go.

They were right, i was wrong.
True love didn't last long.
As the junelight
Turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way.

To where the winds don't blow
And golden rivers flow.
This way will i go.

They were right, i was wrong.
True love didn't last long.
As the junelight
Turns to moonlight
I'll be on my way, hey.
I'll be on my way, ooh.
I'll be on my way, ooh.
I'll be on my way.

  • First heard this on their "Live at the BBC" CD's...thought it was a Buddy Holly cover! Cool how during the "break", George plays, then maybe is "stuck" a bit and stays silent? The Beatles...awesome. I can picture Paul peering over smiling at George after he went silent, by so doing in a friendly way saying, "So that was it?". So it's so cool, they are improvising, and, yes, it seems like it's about ready to be Beatles single, but it wasn't, eh?

  • YES: When I first heard this on the "Live at the BBC" CD's, I thought it was a cover of Buddy Holly. Yes, it is just about there as a Beatles single, huh? Maybe the "middle eight" is a bit weak? Notice George kind of fizzles on his solo on the song....it's great cuz they seem to be

improvising, so "fizzle" is not a fair word. I can imagine Paul smiling over at George after George's "silence" during the latter part of his "break"! Beautiful on the spot stuff! Beatles, YES!

  • Aw shucks...cuts out but then again the BBC recordings go right into another song right? I believe it's ''Young Blood''...

  • This song was written by Lennon & McCartney, released in 63 by the Dakotas, heavily influenced by Buddy Holley.

  • Mark it fab!

  • Is it weird that my two favorite bands are The Beatles and The Killers? haha

  • such a cool song love it

  • bestles eternally....

  • omg. I thought i'd heard all of the Beatles songs then I found the Live @ BBC. this song....incredible.
