How to move Tokay Geckos to a new vivarium

We all assume geckos are peaceful, family pets. But have you ever tried to handle a tokay gecko? They are mean!

These guys needed moving to their new vivarium recently. Usually folk will move tockays using thick gloves, but we prefer to coax them into boxes. It's trickier, but we find it's a gentler approach.

I've got a tokay gecko and I've never handled a more peaceful gecko all it takes is time and ive never been bitten

yes, boxing the gecko might be better for it. It's debatable whether a prolonged time maneuvering and molesting the animal causes it less stress than a few seconds constrained in a glove, but it certainly lessens the chances of damage to skin. In this case it was done very quickly and cleanly, but usually isn't as easily done. However, these animals CAN be tamed, and some taming sessions are really in the animal's best interest, as it won't be frightened every time a person approaches its cage.

tokay geckos can be mega tame you know it just depends how you approach it :)
