This is a time lapse video of some of the process I went through teaching myself how to stain bricks and murals into concrete.

I think it turned out pretty good.

I didn't do any crack repairs because I would not have been able to match the existing concrete. It just looks like the design cracked after it was stained.

  • What cutting attachment did you use on the Dremel to make the detail cuts??

  • @evertcg I don't recall, it was just a small grinding bit.... just experiment with diff bits in a noncospicuous place.

  • Awesome job!!!!!!

  • @atvogel Thanks, I did that in 08' most of it has faded away, I didn't seal it But all the etching is still there. Havent figured out just how to re-stain it aside from staining each individual part or restaining and re-etching thw whole thing again.

  • @phartattack years? lol really nice work though :)

  • Never a surprise the wife seems to always duck out when ever a project is due. At least its not just mine that bails on me whenever there is work to be done, looks like yours did to. Thumbs up if you have to hunt down the wife to help ya!

  • Thanks for the video, really great work. Did you consider fixing the cracks in the concrete before doing the job? Not sure how to do that myself or if it is easy to do. Here is a tip for your next project if you want some great detail, use an overhead projector, you can print out any design from your computer and put it on some transparency paper and project the design and then outline. I use this technique when painting desings on the walls (great for a kids room). Thanks for all the info!

  • Great job , Honestly love you work !!!!
