The First Battle of the Revolution was Point Pleasant in Virginia. 'The Shot' heard around the world was at Concord Bridge. MA

Nowadays, "standing and delivering" will get you shot faster than you can say "for our lord and savior!"

There's something dreadfully romantic about the old long coat and the musket, isn't there?

The first shot of the revolution was at the battle green in lexington MA, the battles in concord happened later in the day. As for the first battle, umm if you look at the casualties on that day on both sides it was more than "a shot" heard round the world.
