Will you be doing more videos about HTS App challenges, or... ?
I had the idea of making all of them myself or as much as I can...
The optimal strategy is to use less, but more advanced tools, so you won't need to get all possible tools for all possible things, just learn to professionally use the few.
Why you advertise Olly and IDA and tell to use "strings", when you could just suggest to use a commonly used tool like a Hex editor or Olly with Search for all strings?

Hack the ancient things.. most of the things there got obsolete long long time ago...
So it's more like an intro, it doesn't literally teach how to hack into Pentagon.

@Doey73Harman0200 google "vmware player", you can get that for free. You're going to need a windows installation cd to set up windows. (alternatively you can download a linux iso online and use gdb - this has a pretty high learning curve though)

Ossum :) but i dont see when you'd actually use this... in this scenario, programs usually use an algorithm rather than preset strings.

@jacoby6000 Professional applications will generally obfuscate their strings, or use an algorithm, but strings is a valuable command that can be useful.

so i believe this site teaches you how to hack?
OhYellowTurtle 10 months ago
@OhYellowTurtle they give you a good exposure to "hacking". If you want to be able to hack, it would be extremely beneficial for you to learn the relevant programming languages. (web hacking: javascript, php, MYSQL ; binary/game hacking: c++, assembly; etc...) Hacking binaries is pretty difficult to learn since you need to have a pretty in-depth knowledge of how a computer words. (memory, processor, etc)
