by the way i build banjo and canjos as a hobby i love building them, i also tune them by ear but beleave it or not i can't play a note on a banjo, well the reason i can't i had a stroke and my left hand is not in very good shape, i have a good ear for music your very good! i just hope your playing because you love music and the banjo and not because your parents wanted you to play? im from south carolina myself but live in indiana now, David Coffin*

when your playing do you ever put your left hand fingers on the 5th string the half keyed string or do you just hit the string only? i havent seen many artis key that string is it done or not?
