An important ingredient in this dish I thought was the Fenugreek powder. Is there any reason why that ingredient was omitted?

Can the fish that is used here be subsituted for another type? What kinds may be used? May you use fresh ginger and garlic instead of the paste?

You can certainly substitute pomfret with any other fish variety. It is advisable to use ginger and garlic pastes instead of putting them in chopped form.
