What's wrong with people saying that they're proud to be Filipino? I guess some people may not get it, but it's just a Filipino thing to say that kind of comment.

Come on, yeah she's an individual, but for some reason Filipinos feel proud when one of their people are doing well and are usually very supportive.

It's just Pinoy Pride, don't be hating just because we've got lots to represent!

@chyna67122 American soldiers who fought in war used to say "I'm proud to be an American"; since they actually did something; they were proud of themselves for their contributions towards freedom. This phrase caught on, and Americans used it as a patriotic saying (openly incorrect); as the word 'pride' is really means: ones' own accomplishments. The Filipinos just adopted (karaoked) this incorrect phrase and used it as their own too, it's still used incorrectly today.
