Cupids Inspiration - Yesterday has gone 1968
(# 4 in UK 1968)

'It's amazing what you can do with one hit:
Smash hit Yesterday Has Gone provided Leamington four-piece Cupid's Inspiration with the platform for a music career spanning three decades.
The pop/rock song climbed to number four in the charts back in 1968 and remains their most well known tune.
But strangely, the hit stormed the top ten before any of the Leamington crew had joined the band.
Lead singer Martin Cure replaced original front man Terry Rice-Milton two years later, recruited Leamington musicians and returned home from London in 1974.
Cure, who now lives in Sydenham and hires out PA systems, said: "We managed to carve a living out of Yesterday Has Gone without recording it or ever achieving the same success again. It's amazing what you can do with one hit and it still gets played on the radio."
Cupid's Inspiration, whose line-up is completed by guitarist Jim Batty, drummer Paul Brook and bassist Keith Hancock, continued to tour until 2002, supporting the likes of The Searchers on 1960s package shows.

Lyrics:
Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed
And tomorrow hasn't started
All that really matters is right now

And you should live a lifetime in each minute
Take the sweetness from within it
Yesterday has gone without a sound

Come on baby let the good times roll
Time is wasting and we'll soon be old
Just give in to what you feel inside
Give your life a chance to open wide

Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed
And tomorrow hasn't started
All what really matters is right now

And you should live a lifetime in each minute
Take the sweetness from within it
Yesterday has gone without a sound

What's the good of living in the past
Look around your things are changin' fast
Don't concern yourself with what's ahead
It's too late to live when you are dead

Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed
And tomorrow hasn't started
All what really matters is right now

And you should live a lifetime in each minute
Take the sweetness from within it
Yesterday has gone without a sound

Hey, baby, yesterday
