  • also, please, be so kind to reveal the camera you used for the canal st and the b/w stuff. really, really amazing, 35 mm-esque stuff. deepest congratulations.

  • @liftmanproductions The Canal Street was a Canon 514XL, and the B/W (NY) was a Canon 310XL, while the B/W (Miami) was a Canon 814 AZE. Thank you so much!!!

  • totally to be agreed with everyone else here. its almost 35mm-feel...

indeed, perhaps the best super8 footage to be seen. really sharp, hd-feel, and its vivid colours resemble it when its projected on the canvas.

now, i have a hd-20, can i do this at home? could you give some tips?

'cause there are the majority of the clips here that make me a bit sad, but this one gave me inspiration. and yes, I'd love to hear that you are actually hireable...:-) cheers from hungary.

  • @liftmanproductions Well very many thanks for the comments, really. I was very happy at the way this turned out. I used the HV20 with a real time Telecine Unit i bought from Ebay years ago. It's very labor-intensive for me though, since I haven't upgraded my PC, which is why I don't do many of these. I have to actually capture to tape, then transfer to hard disk, then do the post-work on it. Hopefully I'll get a better PC and an Intensity HD capture card.

  • This kind of work gives Super 8 a good name. The color and B&W footage equally impressive. Top notch.

  • @pH4nTomPL4n3T Thanks very much! I'm in the process of upgrading my gear, with any luck I'll be making more HD transfers soon.

  • @Austo1989 I used an old telecine unit I got from Ebay a few years ago. Not progressive mind you, it's "real time" so there's still some double-framing here and there. For the subway shots I used some very old Tri-X from the 1980's.

  • @Austo1989 What's the length of your film and what types of shots are in them?

  • By the way: Trying to make a few bucks? Id love to send you my film and have it telecined by you. Let me know.

  • Wait. So how exactly was this footage telecined using the Canon HV20? Looks incredible. Also - what B&W film were you using in the dark subway shots?
