A scientific inquiry of spelling structure and meaning

This film shows how to do a scientific investigation that reveals the structure and meaning of a target word and its relatives. In ordered steps, I model the questions, linguistic tools (in particular the word sum) and references to identify morphologically related words. A follow up video shows how to work with a set of word sums to build a word matrix showing the interrelated structure of words from a common orthographic morphological family.
