Ice Bath Therapy, or Cold bath therapy is very beneficial to athletes to help them recover from training sessions. It helps remove metabolic wastes inflammation, promotes cell and muscle restoration, and can be beneficial for those suffering from Venous disorders like Hemroids and Vericocele. Another common sense benefit is it can help numb pain as well. Be sure that the water is ATLEAST below 60 degrees. Anything above 60 degrees will not remove inflammation. 50 degrees is usually the best. Anything below 50 degrees will only be for conditioned persons. In this video, I didnt have to add much ice since it's already winter time. My pipes were actually frozen already. And the bathtub is porcelain. So, the water coming out was already realllly cold. But, I wanted to test myself and add a little ice. Optimial time is about 10 or 20 minutes. If you add too much ice, and your body isnt conditioned to this kind of treatment, you could actually faint. So, build up gradually to lower temps if you choose to test yourself with extreme temps. I reccomend getting an mp3 player to help pass the time or you can also practice meditation. Try to use mental strength to fight off the need to shiver to build mental toughness. No need to do this everyday. Once a week is beneficial. Also, you can take alternating cold and hot showers in the morning to invigorate your circulation.

Cheers and good health!

Take care of your body, you only get one"- (if only I realized that sooner than later)

  • during my football season i had to get in the ice bath for 15 minutes because i injured my upper back. Fucking sucked.

  • @ProjectFuze yeah, in this video, it was in the middle of winter, it was brutal. I stay in for about 12 minutes. It does rejuvenate you, but its no fun. lol.

  • Man, you are crazy :D

I hope it really has some use, 'cause that looks damn cold :D

  • @Greathoof Yeah it was. Its already winter here, and the pipes were frozen, so I didnt need much ice. It was very cold, but it helps alot. and its very invigorating.

  • Thumbs Up

man that takes balls. Respect. Knowing how beneficial this treatment is does not help you in the least to actually sink yourself in the cold water. Respect.

I `d recomend eating lots of Kiwis - because they contain a lot of natural vitamin C wich is going to help the body both in coping with the cold and in coping with inflammations.

Since i eat stuff rhich in vitamin C my healing from a hard wooden dummy session goes much faster.

Take care man, and much respect.

    silk

    ;-))

  • @blacksilkblacksilk thanks. its funny you say that. I actually do eat alot of kiwis. And yeah, that water was very cold. Winter plus cold water doesnt add up well. lol

  • @foodcubes he obviously has a spotter, the person working the camera.

  • @randyds5 I know it ice baths work, but you should probably get a spotter so you don't accidentally die.

  • I got stiff neck after watching this video. It's not easy to bend your head while watching.

  • get ur knees in there! at least that's where my inflammation is from playing soccer!

  • I am a skater and your probably all thinking, dude what the fuck you dont need know ice bath but let me tell you after a day of hurling yourself down stairs it helps alot

  • I found this quite beneficial, gave me an excuse to raid my freezer for ice, haha, its Summer, so I reckon it's not as bad for me as it is for you.

Thanks a lot for the info mate, cheers :)
