@knightguy11 I was using wikipedia as a source, and I was wrong, giving us one extra. According to wikipedia, AP voted us #1 in 1960, as well as 1984 and 1991. We haven't won one since the advent of the BCS National Championship. I understand multiple sources voted for the national champions back in the old days, but AP is the default. However, I can see why they decided to go the BCS Championship game, giving 1984 as an example.

@AlaricRose According to the real records.....Washington has 1 National title(1991). I understand you can claim 4......many other teams can "claim" many more. When 1 obscure publication votes you #1 in say...1960....you don't claim that. Florida could "claim" 5....voted #1 in 1984 and 1985 by other publications. Actually in 1984 7 different publications voted Florida #1......it is not recognized so you can't count it. Just wanted to educate you a bit. Good day.

@AlaricRose Minnesota has 4 NC's also. Miami fans live in the past on those 5 NC's.....I acknowledge the 5 NC's but lots of schools have as many or more and they don't live in the past.

@knightguy11 If it makes you feel better, I'm a Washington fan. We've won four national titles going back to the 60's, but no one seems to remember that. At any rate, this year we finally cracked the top 25 for the first time in over a decade. Too bad it was only for a week. At this rate, I'm pretty sure that even with Nick Montana, you'd hand us our rear ends.
