Javed: Ancient Greece vs Pakistan

Javed Chaudhry - host of Kal Tak program in Pakistan - contrasts the maturity of ancient Greek civilization with the backwardness of modern-day Pakistan. According to him, more than 2600 years ago, ancient Athens under Solon was able to implement a comprehensive set of social, economic, legal, and political reforms that not only created a just, equitable, and progressive society, but gave rise to such intellectual giants in human history as Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle. By contrast, Pakistan in the 21st century can barely call itself a functioning state, what to talk of being an enlightened one.

@roxor1080 well different civilizations have done different additions to humanity. The Greeks never made the written form of language that later on they utilized. Its true that the influence of Greeks is quite great but that is because the "west" traces itself to be derived from the Greeks. All Civilizations like the Chinese and the Indians and others have all worked on Mathematics e.t.c.

@petrosz12 I don't think so, if you consider the civilizations that flourished next to the Indus River. Some of these civilizations are over 5,000 years ago. And to be honest, Greece adopted from Mesopotamia, and the Romans adopted from Greece. That's the cyclus of civilization. Everyone learned from the Mesopotamians. So if you want it that way, then I can say Mesopotamians had a way longer civlization than Greece. =) PS. I am not a Pakistani, I am a Kurd.

no there are not so many greeks in germany there are more turks,armenians and iranians

this is why german people in general do not have problem with greece

oh and also because greeks are white and greeks in germany have high paid jobs and are highly educates usually
