On May 19, 2007 UP 844 & SP 4449 doubleheaded between Tacoma and Everett, WA. Pentrex was there to capture this historic moment.

  • I love this! I can't noy believe these awsome 4-8-4s would doublehead in 2007! I hope they doublehead again. :)

  • @TrainTrackTrav We even used to do that back when I was a boy in

    the late 40s and 50s and steam locomotives were everywhere!

    There has always been that certain majesty about them that diesels

    will NEVER achieve.

  • I think that the 844 looks longer than SP 4449

  • this was the first time I saw #844 since I was a kid she came back in 2010 but too bad 4449 was not with her

  • @wippydobo321 Same railway system, so it's easy to get to each place, the only thing is that the UP doesn't own the 4449, I think a private businessman does.

  • Look at 1:15! The people stop in their tracks to watch a piece of history fly by! Everybody stops to see a steam engine go by! I love that.
