They can CERTAINLY outrun it. They have slipspace which is faster than light travel. They can also take shelter in shield worlds. The DeathStar Destroys planets while the Halo Array whipes out every living thing in the galaxy. Elites are trained sword fighters. Even a spartan would find it hard to take care of an elite with a sword. Brutes Charge at you with massive hammers which is enough to launch a vechiles into the air. Do not underestimate the weapons in the Halo universe.

The arbiter would buttfuck any Jedi in a sword/saber fight. Master chief would PWN any stormtrooper in a gunfight or fistfight. A single ODST would step on yoda and kill him. MAC cannons would blast a hole right through starfleets ships like knife through butter. Death star: is used to blow up entire planets. Halo: buttrape all sentient life in the galaxy.
