We ride one of the four main Man-Powered Elevators, MPE "C", serving the public areas, and all hotel rooms, at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square, New York, New York.
This was a rarity, as Schindler did not modernize the MPE at all, and does appear to be maintained by them: poorly. They creak a little bit, and seem a bit worn. Apperently, I was not the only one who had issues with the Mi-"Chronic" 10 elevators, and took the MPE instead.
Funny thing is, near the very top, the fixed-incremented planes have nice carpeting, only to lead to a fire exit door. That seems pointless.

CURRENT MPE RECORDS:
Floors Covered: 1 - 45 1/2 (44 1/2 floors, no 13).
Height: 535 feet, continuous*

* Video states 550 feet, corrected with In-Video annotation. Forgot to include the 49'th floor, for the elevator machine room.

  • This MPE was, by far, the most daunting I've ever seen. I was exhausted just watching you traverse its steps. For the hotel, it seems strangely mundane, but I'm sure it gave you quite the workout nevertheless.

It also shows that anyone with a major weight problem can do anything, if they want to try.

My legs were very wobbly after this, especially evident with the jittery parting shot.

  • i want to do that!

  • @BradyandNellyROCK123

I'm WAY out of shape, and teetering on Obeesity, but with strong legs.

If I can do it, it's not really all too hard.

    :)

    (1) I was a guest here, not that it seems to matter, really.

    (2) 10'th floor guest level, slowly inched down to 1, to keep strength up for the travel.

  • Hey George, ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY!!

  • @TheElevatorPlanet

Saw it. Didn't think it was too funny. Was removed.

(Might've been bad delivery. Might want to rethink what you tried to convey.)

  • @georgef551 New York NY: The video of the elevators at the Marriot Marquis. Where you went up to 48 twice.

  • @TheElevatorPlanet

    Uhh....where?

  • @georgef551 Check and see what I wrote on your video! I think you might find it funny!
