I almost died from an actinomycosis infection that started from an IUD. I became septic and it spread to my lungs and throughout my gut. This is very interesting to me because they had a difficult time diagnosing me. I hope people remember what it looks like too!

actinomyces is bacteria that behaves like a fungus, once thought to be a fungus. not the other way around.
