Update since this video, we are in the third season and boiler is running fine. oil was delivered in october and we are now into end of June with alittle less than 1/2 tank and 7 cords of wood burned from November to april. //all controls are running fine, cleaning every two weeks is minor maintenance and sometime this summer I will pull the back of the boiler and clean fire tubes and stack. Im allowing two hours for this service. any questions call me bill 6093324965

This video is of the econoburn inside wood boiler with a crown direct vent 135,000btu back up oil fired boiler. The econoburn boiler was installed in the existing location of the old oil boiler using the existing chimney. We went with the crown boilere direct vent so that we can share the same location with the wood boiler without the need for a second chimney.

It has been 1 1/2 years with these systems and the oil boiler has not used 100 gallons and primarily for domestic hot water on the warm months.
4 zone system,l three zones for heating the 2800 sq. ft, one zone for the hotwater heating tank.

we have used 18 cords of wood for this period. Since I have a forest on my property and using only dead wood or blow down wood has kept the cost to near zero. Only expenses have been chain sharpending on the chain saws and purchase of two poulin 18 inch cut remanufactured saws off of ebay for 95 and 110 each including shipping.
The Crown boiler is small and compact and with a one gallon per hour burner and 88% effiecency we have a total house back up and a reduced consumption.
