The world of Long distance running is unique. The runners keep on the road for hours and days at a time, with but one goal, to cover the long long distance. We who watch,try and help, but we are but bystanders. People on the sidelines involve ourselves in millions of things and the run just goes on and on. The runners see the world from a unique perspective, the minute and the grand, the beauty and the not so. What best sustains them is their joy, joy in being, in becoming, and joy in transcending.
