I'm a 47 year old drummer trying to become more of a musician. I worked on this piece for a month and after my 75 year old Dad heard it, he paused a minute and asked, "Do you know how to play Margaritaville?" There are a lot of mistakes in this piece. But this is as good as it gets. Even though it isn't perfect, I need to move on before I drive my family and myself crazy. I have been studying mallets for 7 months now. Yes, I'm keeping track.

  • This is a Vancore Marimba yes? I believe I have the same one at my home. Great instrument for the price.

  • Yes, I've since sold it. Had fun with it though.

  • is pretty good for being practicing only a month, i make more mistakes in a piano with a prelude that i've been practicing for about 3 months now, lol well on and off.

    5* and long live Bach!

  • Great work, Check out my version I performed a few years ago for my senior recital. it's on my channel. Again, great work.

  • Might I advise working on your piston grip? It will give you much better sound quality

  • where can i get the sheet music

  • can i know where it is you found the sheet music for this please?

  • I believe that you did a fine job of this, just learn to phrase the piece more instead of making all the same volume, try doing more throughout the piece, especially on the ascending 16ths at the end. I believe that once you learn more about technique and making such an old song sound new every time you play it, it will be mucho better! Nice go, though! :]

  • If anything, I would suggest softer mallets and loosen up during your rolls, but sounds really good! :D

  • @Brukei101 Hey buddy, no need to rip on the marimba. The violin isn't my favorite instrument but I wouldn't go and tell someone nothing sounds good on it. And just from this comment I can tell your definitely not a true musician. Learn your place.

  • One of my roomies in College was a marimbist, and I accompanied him on this Concerto. He said "It was a bear!!!!" You are sounding pretty decent. Keep it up. BRIAN

  • work on your form and note accuracy, and i wouldn't put a video up of myself playing unless it was close to perfection
