I take a look at the difference between phasing and flanging effects. I'm using the MXR M-101 Phase 90 (http://tinyurl.com/2daehzo) and the MXR M-152 Micro Flanger re-issue (http://tinyurl.com/2gyzt3t) pedals to demonstrate the differences. For more in depth information into some of the science behind the differences in phasing and flanging, check out the following articles:

  • @bitezob - no one's forcing you to watch it. Thanks for taking the less than 6 minutes it took to watch it out of your day.

  • @TheVilleicht - Thanks for the info. The point of the video is to give a very basic hands on compare/contrast of the effects, nothing more.

  • @Mrk00k00dud3 Not the exact same, but with fiddling, VERY close. I personally like the sound of my EHX Small Stone mixed with my MXR Black Label Chorus BETTER than my EHX mistress flanger.

  • Good demo, thanks! I wanna try to get that Johnny Winter 'Captured Live!' tone, and I do believe he used the phaser 90....soundsl like to me.

  • Has anyone ever said that you sound like Ray Romano?

  • @TheFunnyzach Would both of the different pedal sound the same if the phaser and chorus mix together?

  • @Gabriopunk77 And when the US government decides to investigate and prosecute businesses who operate this way, Macdaddy Music will continue doing business while these other businesses are either severely harmed (due to their own actions and choices) or shut down completely. Again - I don't disagree with you that import/export law may be unfair, but ultimately my goal is to run a business that's successful in the long term and I make decisions to get to that goal.

  • @macdaddymusicstore I know, I'm also a law student. And anarchist. I know, seems much of a contradiction. Anyway, I don't know why it's illegal in the US. Your country is loosing millions because of ludacris charges overseas. No wonder most sellers agree to do it. One is even willing to say that a 1500 dollars jackson actually costs 200, haha. Love it.

  • @Gabriopunk77 no need to apologize. I understand what you're saying, but had to respond since your practice requires cooperation by sellers that are illegal.

  • @macdaddymusicstore Sorry if I said something I shouldn't. I was merely justifing my practice.
