Right now, the casino is being run on the socialist model. It's not working. The Las Vegas model works. The KBC is afraid to try it, apparently. We talk about the bravery of our Kiowa forebears. I agree, and I want to tell you something. Some of these songs are older than we imagine. Once (about 1972)at my folks place when I was a kid, My dad sang a round dance song(He's Quapaw). My friend (Apache) John started grinning. He said "No this is how WE sing that song-you sing it wrong." He sang, and our Athabaskan guest from Alaska, said, "No -you're both wrong, this is how it goes." Alaska to the border of Mexico? No recordings? I wonder if the Aztecs sing it too. It wouldn't shock me.
