Here, I refute the supposed contradiction between 2 Samuel 23:8 and 1 Chronicles 11:11, where two different numbers are apparently listed for the number of men killed by Davids cheif of captains. According to the Oxford Annotated Bible, the chief of the captains was the same person, but with different names. (The name in 2 Samuel 23 is a copyist error.)
