First cuckoo I ever purchased chiming 12. GM Angem movement with count wheel chime. Was missing the weights and needed the bellows recovered and new lift wires had to be made. I had to clean and oil the movement. Also the verge was out of adjustment but now has a loud strong tick. The chimes needed lots of adjusting to get them right again also. I found the correct size and type of wiretop weights for this one(which are lighter than modern ones). It is about 9 inches from crest to bottom leaf. The case itsself is about 6 inches to the point of the roof.

  • I used to own a clock identical to that. It got ruined in a flood.

  • That's a shame. Maybe someday you will get another. 5 leaf 1 bird is actually the most common design, this exact size and movement are a bit hard to come by but not impossible to find.

The worst thing to happen to this one was someone tried to use too heavy of weights on it in the past, took a lot of adjusting to the chime side to get it back right again.

  • I always like to see the old ones brought back

  • Ive got a G.M. Angem too, like yours, only mine has a carved deer on the crest. it squeaks when ticking, even after proper oiling. other than that no problems. any suggestions? you seem like you know clocks.
