This film will be very difficult. This should have been on Masterpiece Theater like "The Jewel in the Crown" for 14 weeks. I have serious doubts whether a film can do justice to this book since it so vast. It really needs to be a TV series. What can they leave out to fit it in 2.5 hour film?

I'm really looking forward to the movie! The good thing is that Rushdie himself has written the screenplay.
