  • i hope everyone realizes what an amazing person and attorney that jeff ashton is! helped introduce DNA evidence for the first time in the US back in 1987 (while prosecuting Tommy Lee Andrews-rapist). i think everyone can agree regardless of how you feel about the casey anthony verdict DNA changed everything in our courts. not only put away many criminals who might have otherwise gone free...but set free people who were cleared from dna evidence. major respect from me!

  • @zrob1 So Ashton can't let out a chuckle but Baez can TEXT in open court?? That's professional?

    Thanks.

    4. Prosecutors are forced to make plea bargains just as are defense attorneys. In bad faith they often will not make a legitimate offer until the day the trial is scheduled to commence.

    5. Real life is not what you read in your text books of appellate decisions or the F.R.Cr.P./F.R.C.P.

    6. No cause of death, no murder weapon, no motive, a death-qualified jury from a conservative county and not guilty verdicts on all 3 of the 3 most serious counts = dogshit case.

    1. You intentionally misstate what I wrote and then slay your own straw man. I hope you're not planning on being a trial attorney because that bush-league tactic won't slide in court.

    2. Once more: "Here's a little secret for you little miss 2L, real defense attorneys relish the fact that they're hated by future potential attorneys (and actual attorneys) LIKE YOU.

    3. Plea bargains have ZERO to do with whether prosecutors/defense attorneys like or loathe each other.

  • @forthedefence82 - Specifically enlighten me on HOW Mr. Ashton's case was dog shit, please. Contrary to your belief, defense attorneys and prosecutors do not "relish in hatred." Instead, they work together daily in order to reach plea bargains - not every case should or can go to trial. Also, it's malpractice to not zealously represent your client with respect to his or her best interests. Real life is NOT what you see on Law and Order SVU. Thanks.

Here's a little secret for you little miss 2L, real defense attorneys relish the fact that they're hated by future potential attorneys (and actual attorneys) like you.

Blue collar criminal defense attorneys don't typically act out of love of their clients, but rather to try to keep in check out of control prosecutors like that piece of grandstanding, peacock strutting jerkoff Jeff Ashton.

In this instance Baez shoved Ashton's dogshit of a case right up his old sorry ass.

  • ELECT JEFF ASHTON FOR STATE ATTORNEY IN ORANGE COUNTY FL

  • That crazy old fart 'opened' Caylee's skull and it crumbled. Fucking moron. He might have been good in his hey day, but now he needs to quit.

  • @EmceeSpawn - I'm merely a second year law student exercising my 1st Amendment right to a shameless Youtube opinion.

  • @legalglitz

You have no idea what type of work defense attorneys do nor do you understand that not everyone that is charged with a crime is guilty. Otherwise you wouldn't make such a ridiculous statement such as "defense attorneys are scum".

  • @EmceeSpawn - Because they are permitted to and often argue "false inferences" even if they know the client is guilty . . . prosecutors are not ethically permitted to do so.
