Alicia Sacramone, who scored 15.95 on beam in qualifying as a replacement for injured Chellsie Memmel, fell on an awkward mount and scored 15.100, lower than Cheng (15.150).
That left the U.S. a full point behind, rather than fractions, going into the final event at National Indoor Stadium. Sacramone fell again leading off on floor exercise, and all three Americans went out of bounds as China won the gold medal by a comfortable 2.375 points (188.900-186.525). Romania (181.525) won the bronze ahead of Russia (180.625).
A mistake was done. All you can do is turn the page," Martha Karolyi, U.S. national team coordinator said. "We did so much training of making them tough and keeping their cool and concentration, so it's disappointing."

Get over yourself. You're not the one who put 12 years into training for that. Of course she feels bad! She was crying for attention? Maybe she was dissapointed in herself and felt like she let them team down. Every gymnast has their bad days. Just because she had a bad day doesn't mean she's the worst gymnast of all time. She's a senior elite gymnast for crying out loud, only 1% of gymnasts make it that far. Have a little empathy and stop being so selfish.

I agree with everything sunokiissed said. I love Alicia,she is a great gymnast&I hope she sticks around atleast 1 more year just to prove everyone wrong. I think that on beam the wait got to her[by the way did you see her trying to save that, even that attempt is an accomplishment in itself!]&then by floor,beam was still on her mind. Whatever the reason,she had a bad day,she's human&she makes mistakes.She's still a great gymnast,she has so much talent,&she was put on the team for a reason.

Everyone makes mistakes. Maybe Nastia and Shawn did get gold and Alicia got silver, but at least she made it all the way to the Olympics. I do believe she tried her hardest out there and gave it her all, but she is only one person and a human. She is still a great gymnast. At least they still got second place. We can't keep blaming her for everything that went wrong that happened almost 4 years ago. We got to just live with the fact that that what happened happened and move on.

@gymnastagirl141009 I don't see a video titled "Bad day" on either of them. They rose to the pressure throughout these games that's why they both have gold metals and Alicia has silver. Of course it wasn't 100% her fault but as team captain and one of the leaders on the team she didn't perform and was by far the biggest reason the US didn't win gold.

She choked, it happens to many athletes in big pressure situations. It's what seperates the champions from every one else. She is a very capable gymnist who did not react well when the pressure was the highest. She felt terrible, she felt she let her team and country down and she did. It sounds cold but those are the facts. Clutch athletes love the pressure situation chockers just want to get them over with and are overwhelmed.
