This was an old comment about CFLs that you responded to. But I would honestly pay $10 per bulb if I did not have to buy these things from the melamine Chinese. Where are the 3 million US jobs Bill Clinton said that CFLs would create? I would do anything to buy them from America or at least from some Democratic allies such as Japan. Buying them from a country that has no environmental standards does not help the environment. CFLs are a wonderful technology but were not doing it right.
Fluorescent bulbs that are discarded in the trash will break and some mercury will be released into the environment. However, the use of mercury-containing bulbs for general indoor lighting makes good environmental sense. EPA website
Got an led from marslight (after testing paulmann and osram and they´re mediocre right now) for 24 $ which is still too much. - but it´s bright and has a soft light (milky plastic bulb). I wonder why they don´t make a body with a lot of anodes and cathodes instead of piling single ones together.
incandescent $0.25 CFL $2.00 LED $50 Sorry but I don't have $200 to spend on light bulbs for one fixture or over $1500.00 to do my entire house. These are for sanctimonious rich people. Oh and CFL's suck
