im a volunteer firefighter in australia. and i would have to agree with mtx12, its not easy getting to the station and we dont even get pretty little lights, we have to drive in normal road conditions. and to be dead honest2:26 might of seemed like a long time but its really not, its simply for the fact that fire burns so fast.
Tell that to the families of the 117 Firemen that died in the Line Of Duty in 2007 and the 22 Firemen that died in the Line of Duty as of March 2008. FTM-PTB
I agree with mtx12--it does take time to get to a fire, and you do have to put up with idiot drivers who won't yield the right-of-way for EV's (seen it many times as a civilian) and then you have to get there and get organized and know exactly where and what you are doing. Get a life you assholes (all the negative comments) and I would like to see your fucking asses doing what these brave men & women are doing!!
Walk up the flights of stairs with all that heavy equipment and hose.A team searches for people who may possibly be trapped or injured. Another team starts to put the fire out.Anyhow, yes this movie is 2:26 long and nobody is there yet. Think about all the stuff we have to do before we get there. Believe me,if someone is there in less than 10 minutes that is awesome.Dont be so ignorant. If you dont believe what I typed go to the fire station and ask them. They will say the same things. Guaranteed!
stuck in a line of cars because there is a school bus dropping off kids, etc. Now we get to the station. Run inside and put our gear on. We get in the truck and hope a driver shows up fast being they will have to deal with all the crap we did on the way to the station. Now we drive there. Yup, idiot drivers, nobody pulls over, intersections blocked up, etc....Finally we get close and hook up to a fire hydrant. Pull the truck closer to the building. Get off and pull hose off the truck. Go inside.
Well lets see, if a volunteer fire department was called to this lets think about this: Someone has to call 911, they call us out for the call. Now, we have to stop everything we are doing like getting out of the shower, leave a family dinner, leave their jobs, put their newborn baby back in the crib, stop cutting the grass, and the list goes on and on. Now, we get in our vehicles and drive to the station with our pretty lights on. Oh, nobody pulls over,we get stuck at red lights, train crossings
i hope that no one hurt on that fire
