that engine should be putting out more hp to the wheels unless you are using the mr2 tranny
-
what type of exhaust did you have on this that made it restrictive? Stock N/A?
-
@bighungary29 alot of people use the stock mr2 turbo trans since it bolts right up and is nearly identical to the camry one anyway. No idea what coolpass is talking about. An S54 or E153 trans is not a "wrong" transmission for a camry v6 and most likely have more agressive gearing and would be better for an owner looking for performance. Also a gen2 mr2 and a camry weigh close to the same so I'm confused how he thinks going from 150hp to 200+ makes a car slower...
-
what type trans are you using?
-
yeah the rear drive losses but funny thing is, because they always seem to use the wrong trans [the one from the 4cyl] they are actually SLOWER than they can be because they can't take advantage of the engine properly than ours, though their light weight and rear drive helps make up for it. such a shame

a peak hp figure is irrelevant, focus instead on gearing, torque curve, tire diamter, vehicle weight, and drag factors
-
with 180 on paper, 166 to the hubs isnt that bad. i'd guess the manual v6 camry's/es300's are probably around the same
-
only thing i can go against dude. 5SFE is 110HP to the wheels IF THAT, hes pulling 166 thats a HUGE bonus, my mk1 prolly has 90 to the wheels (until i finish a turbo silvertop) whereas my brothers is prolly touching base with 115 and its night and day.
Haha those V6 swaps sound so awesome :)
166whp or not, hearing that beside you on the freeway would make me think twice.
-92 turbo mr2 :)
